Leyburn Sprints Receive QERDP FundingThe Leyburn Historic Sprints is benefiting from funding under the Queensland Events Regional Development Program (QERDP).
The QERDP is an investment program designed to extend the flow of economic and social benefits of events to regional Queensland. A state-wide initiative, the program is committed to enhancing existing events in regional Queensland, as well as assisting in the establishment of new events. Since the QERDP began in 2001, more than $15.3 million has been invested in 705 regional events, an indicator of the important role these events play in their communities and wider Queensland Finding LeyburnLeyburn is located in the Southern Downs Regional Council, Queensland, Australia. A sleepy little township which was once a bustling goldfield. Leyburn is 219 km southwest of Brisbane and 36 km from Clifton, Toowoomba is approx 75km’s away and Warwick is approx 60km's away so it is out their on its own, but for two days each year when it come alive. Food and drinksFood and drinks are available during the event, this includes food prepared by local community organisations and counter meals are available from the Leyburn Hotel, this year the hotel are providing entertainment on Saturday night. A fully licensed bar is also located in the event area near the track for easy viewing of the race. AccommodationBasic campsites are available in a designated area across from the General Store for tents, caravans, campervans etc at $20 per car/tent/camper/mobile home/etc for Friday night and or Saturday night. (Thats $20 for 1 or 2 nights not $20 per night). Other nights are free. These fees assist the committee offset some of the costs in providing extra showers and toilets for your convenience on Friday and Saturday night. Firwood is not included but will be available for sale.
